Cross stitch and tapestry pieces tend to suit traditional combinations when it comes to framing... a double mount with a colour reflected in the work underneath and a sympathetic white or neutral tone over it. Then framed in a more traditional moulding, again either picking out a colour in the work or staying neutral.
There are times however when you want to be a little bolder...like this quirky piece which really jumps out at you in a simple black frame with blood red mount!
All our cross stitch and tapestry framing is carried out by first stretching the piece on an acid free board to protect the work.
Simplicity was the theme required by the artist to display this beautiful hand stitched lace work. Carefully sewn in place onto a soft blue mount board giving the work a feeling reminiscent of Wedgewood.
Handmade felt and mixed media creations not only create texture, but also give opportunities to experiment with light and shadow in a bright and spacious 3D box frame complimented further by our museum grade UltraVue glass which invites you to take a real close up look at the interesting design.
